Dr. Yiftach Barash Awarded HMS Shore Fellowship and Simon Center Innovation Grant

Dr. Yiftach Barash has been awarded the 2026–2027 Eleanor and Miles Shore Faculty Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, recognizing his academic achievements and ongoing contributions to research and innovation in Radiology, including AI‑driven initiatives. The fellowship provides protected time away from clinical, teaching, and other responsibilities to support scholarly work, including research pursuits and the development of new clinical or educational programs.

Further underscoring this work, in September 2025, the Simon Center for Outcomes Research and Improvement (rCORI) awarded Dr. Barash its Innovation and Outcomes Grant for his project, “Large Language Models for Comprehensive Liver MDC Decision‑Making.” The project aligns with the legacy of Dr. Morris Simon and advances the use of computers and data analytics to enhance safety, improve outcomes, and support learning in healthcare.

Dr. Barash is an Independent Interventional Radiology Resident with a medical degree from Tel Aviv University and an AI healthcare researcher with an MSc in Biotechnology Engineering. He brings prior industry experience and has led research focused on machine learning and advanced imaging to improve clinical decision‑making, combining technical expertise, clinical training, and cross‑disciplinary experience to drive innovation in healthcare.
