Faculty News: Dr. Eyal Klang Joins BIDMC Radiology

We are delighted to announce that Eyal Klang, MD, has joined our Division of Abdominal Imaging and Interventions on Monday, March 2. Coming to us from Mount Sinai in New York City, Dr. Klang is a nationally recognized expert in informatics and AI, as well as an accomplished and highly specialized radiologist.

As part of his extensive professional portfolio, Dr. Klang brings with him the BRIDGE GenAI Lab, of which he is Co-Director, alongside our own Yiftach Barash, MD, Co-Director; Mahmud Omar, MD, Head of Research; and BIDMC’s Alon Gorenshtein, MD, Head of AI Engineering.

The BRIDGE GenAI Lab evaluates generative AI in radiology, at the bedside, and across clinical workflows. The Lab’s focus is on AI that's safe enough to deploy and useful enough to matter. The team studies failure modes, demographic biases, and the gap between benchmark performance and real-world value. As stated on its website, “The goal isn't just papers. It's AI that helps physicians make better decisions — and helps patients get better care.” Learn more: https://bridgegenai.org

Welcome, Dr. Klang, to the Department of Radiology at BIDMC!
