Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr. Erynn Christensen (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) with a joint appointment at Harvard Medical School. Her research investigates the influence of sex hormones on neurocognitive functions, with a particular interest in how endocrine disruptions arising from reproductive health disorders and the aging process affect brain and cognitive functioning. Dr. Christensen serves as the Principal Investigator of the PCOSandUs Study, which examines the relationships between endocrine and metabolic disruptions and neurocognitive functioning in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Her recent work also explores cognitive disruption and brain fog during the menopausal transition, with the goal of better understanding healthy cognitive aging.

Prior to joining BIDMC, Dr. Christensen completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, Northwell Health, New York. She earned her Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (with Honours) and completed her PhD in 2024 at Monash University, Australia, where her doctoral research focused on the neurocognitive correlates and predictors of addictive behaviors.
