Eleanor (Ellie) Schonberg
After graduating from high school in Canton, I attended Colgate University and earned a B.A. in Political Science. I am fascinated by the intersection of politics and healthcare, particularly in underserved communities. After graduation, I moved to Boston and began working as a nursing assistant at BIDMC. After applying to medical school in 2021 without success, I transitioned to working as a Research Coordinator at BIDMC with Dr. Collier. I will be attending Eastern Virginia Medical School for a Masters' in Biomedical Science in the fall of 2024 while I apply again for medical school (fingers crossed!). In my free time, I love to run, read, and listen to true crime podcasts! I also love animals and have a pet hedgehog named Winston.
I grew up in rural upstate New York, in a small town about 15 miles from the Canadian border. So many people I knew growing up didn't have access to affordable healthcare. Since then, I have been working towards a career in medicine. I hope to someday become a rural physician, serving a community like the one I grew up in!
