What kinds of images and file types can be stored on OMERO?

Answer

OMERO uses the BioFormats library for translating and interpreting over 140 image file types. The specifics of what file types are supported is maintained on the OME BioFormats Supported Formats page. If you have a file format that is not fully supported by BioFormats we can explore having it added to BioFormats. This involves sending one or more representative datasets to the BioFormats team and having them write a new importer. There may be a cost to this which we are happy to discuss. If an existing importer does not work properly with your data we can usually have this fixed. Usually there is no cost for this.
