Education/background: Bioengineering, BS - California Institute of Technology
Years in the lab: 2
Jessica joined the lab as a Clinical Research Coordinator and helped extensively with the group's patient-oriented research studies. Research topics included heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, pulmonary hypertension, and long-term effects of COVID-19. By managing administrative aspects of studies, working with patients during study visits, and collaborating with other researchers, Jessica gained a thorough appreciation for the ins and outs of clinical research. Her experience inspired her to continue working at the intersection of medicine and science, and she is now pursuing a Bioengineering MD/PhD at Baylor College of Medicine.
