The Swiss Continence Foundation (SCF) Award is a prestigious recognition presented annually at the International Neuro-Urology Society (INUS) Congress. It honors outstanding early-career researchers (≤ 35 years old) whose work significantly advances the field of neuro-urology.
At the 2025 INUS Congress in Zermatt, Switzerland, Dr. Sartori was selected as one of five finalists for The Future in Neuro-Urology session, where early-career researchers present their work in a competitive setting. A panel of experts (Drs. Célia Cruz, Martina Liechti, Jalesh Panicker, John Stoffel, and Glenn Werneburg) evaluated the presentations and the curriculums. Dr. Sartori won for his research titled "Molecular characterization of the spinal circuitries controlling lower urinary tract function." This work focuses on mapping the molecular and cellular architecture of spinal circuits involved in bladder control, providing novel insights into spinal neuronal populations regulating lower urinary tract function, an area that remains underexplored compared to brain-centered research.
This award underscores the importance of spinal circuits in lower urinary tract regulation.
