Entitled 'Cis P-tau conformation-specific antibody for treatment of vascular dementia' Dr. Qiu aims to evaluate a promising therapeutic antibody for the treatment of vascular dementia, the second most common form of dementia. Vascular dementia is a type of dementia caused by reduced blood flow to the brain, which can damage brain cells. It is the second most common form of dementia after Alzheimer's disease. The condition can arise from strokes or other issues that affect blood vessels in the brain.

Dr. Qiu is grateful to philanthropic donors and institutional funding from the Office of the Chief Academic Officer at BIDMC/BILH. These new 'Ignition Grants' aim to establish industry-sponsored translational research collaborations to promote innovation and develop new treatments for devastating diseases.
