Post-doctoral Fellow

Dr. Kim received her Ph.D. in molecular cellular biology from Korea University College of Medicine in 2015, specializing in AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signal transduction. She has been a research fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since 2018, researching the implications and related mechanisms of Death Associated Protein Kinase 1 (DAPK1) and cis P-tau in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
She currently works with Dr. Zeidel on studies related to neural responses to urinary tract infection in bladder and central nervous system regulation of kidney function. The goal of Dr. Kim’s research is to identify the underlying brain mechanisms that play a role in urinary tract disease and to find novel neuronal markers of relevant neural subtypes.
