About Us

The Structural Biology Core Facility at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, located at 99 Brookline Avenue (Research North), was established to provide state-of-the-art support for investigators across BIDMC, Harvard Medical School, and the broader biotechnology and pharmaceutical communities. Our core specializes in the expression, purification, and characterization of high-quality proteins for use in structural biology—including Cryo-Electron Microscopy and X-ray Crystallography—as well as a wide range of biochemical, biophysical, and therapeutic development applications.

With advanced instrumentation, expert scientific consultation, and flexible project models ranging from assisted training to fully managed services, the Structural Biology Facility enables researchers to accelerate discovery, de-risk programs, and generate publication- and industry-grade data. We routinely support academic labs, startups, and established biopharma partners, and welcome collaborations at all stages—from early-concept feasibility studies to late-stage structural characterization and complex mechanism-of-action analyses.

Our mission is simple: empower researchers with the tools, expertise, and infrastructure necessary to solve challenging biological problems and drive innovation in diagnostics, therapeutics, and fundamental science.
