Liaison for Systemic Effects of Metabolic Disease Hub

Rick Cummings, PhD is the S. Daniel Abraham Professor of Surgery, Chief of the Division of Surgical Sciences, and Vice Chair of Surgery for Basic and Translational Research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.  He is the Director of the National Center for Functional Glycomics and founder and Director of the Harvard Medical School Center for Glycoscience.   Cummings received his B.S. degree from the University of Montevallo, his Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University,  and conducted his post-doctoral fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
