Our Scientific Approach

At the forefront of Parkinson’s disease research, our lab focuses on unraveling the biochemistry and neuropathology underlying this complex neurodegenerative disorder. We take a systems-level approach to investigate the molecular mechanisms driving disease progression, particularly focusing on key protein pathways, including VPS35, USP30, LRRK2, PGC-1alpha, and FBXW7.

We aim to illuminate how these pathways contribute to neuronal dysfunction and degeneration by employing pharmacological and genetic modulation. Our in vivo and in vitro studies are designed to uncover potential therapeutic targets and deepen our understanding of the intricate interplay between these proteins. Through this work, we hope to advance the development of innovative strategies to combat Parkinson’s disease and improve patient outcomes.
