Prashanth Thevkar Nagesh, PhD
I am studying immunophenotyping of PBMCs from alcoholic hepatitis patients and their functional profiling in response to PAMPs.
Mrigya Babuta, PhD
I am studying the exosome biogenesis and release in alcoholic liver disease. I am also interested in elucidating the Type1 IFN signaling and nucleic acid signaling in alcoholic liver disease.
Postdoctoral Research Fellows
Scott Minchenberg, MD PhD
I am a Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology & Hepatology, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. My goal is to gain insights in interplay between macronutrients, cellular metabolism and inflammation.
Radhika Joshi, PhD
I am studying the mechanism of alcohol induced neuroinflammation and its effects on features of Alzheimer disease.
Marti Ortega Ribera, PhD
I am interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the progression of aging and end-stage chronic liver disease.
Veronika Brezani, PhD
I am currently studying liver-brain communication via exosomes and their miRNA cargo in the context of alcohol use and alcohol-induced liver damage.
Deepika, PhD
I am studying the role of MDSCs in alcohol associated liver disease and their impact on liver fibrosis. Targeting MDSCs in alcohol associated liver disease holds promise for regulating inflammation, fibrosis, and improving liver function, making it a valuable area for developing new therapeutic strategies.
Research Assistants
Aditi Ashish Datta, MS, BPharm
As a research assistant at Dr. Szabos lab, I help postdocs with their projects, applying my knowledge of molecular pathways to further our understanding of liver diseases.
