REIGN Scholars Program:
(Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, Geriatrics/Palliative Care, General Internal Medicine, and Nephrology)
We have created the REIGN Scholars Program to encourage and enable residents to become future leaders in these important fields. To help REIGN Scholars achieve their future career goals, each Scholar will have unique opportunities to:
- Develop strong mentorship through an assigned mentor/advisor in their field of interest--this will be in addition to the robust advising system in which all BIDMC residents participate.
- Complete an intensive two-week ambulatory clinical experience in their field of interest during intern year, providing an early introduction to the field of interest.
- Participate in a longitudinal subspecialty clinic during the second and third year of residency designed to deepen the understanding of the longitudinal nature of the specialty and to establish a mentoring relationship with a clinician in the field of interest.
- Build relationships with national and international leaders within the subspecialty field by attending an annual specialty society meeting. The cost of attending this meeting will be covered, and is in addition to the opportunity all residents have to present scholarly work at a national meeting.
- Grow as a researcher and/or scholar within the specialty field with eligibility for a $1000 stipend for research/scholarly projects.
