Dr. Zeidel’s lab focuses on fundamental research questions in animal models that attempt to understand the neural circuitry that controls how and when we urinate, and also to modeling urinary tract disease so that better understanding can lead to better treatments. His group uses state-of-the-art techniques in next generation single cell RNA sequencing, opto- and chemo-genetics, neural tracing, fMRI, Cre-recombinase reporter mice, electrophysiology and in vivo physiological measurements.
Dr. Zeidel's research has been recognized by the American Physiological Society, the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians. He has received continuous funding from the NIH for over 30 years. He has approximately 200 published scholarly works.
