About our research
Our research includes several ongoing projects:
- advancing a new regulatory pathway for conduct of osteoporosis clinical trials
- testing advanced imaging techniques for assessing skeletal fragility
- examining the effects of musculoskeletal health in disuse and spaceflight
- understanding stress fracture mechanisms in military recruits
- investigating musculoskeletal health in indigenous populations.
We try to leverage advanced imaging techniques and access to large repositories of data to help understand some of these questions. We also have experience in clinical research, enrolling subjects into various studies. Students, prospective visiting scholars, research fellows, and others are welcome to contact leadership for more information.
Sample Research Area
Effects of spaceflight on the musculoskeletal system
In collaboration with NASA, we are examining the effects of spaceflight and recovery on Earth on the musculoskeletal system in astronauts.
