How To Apply for OB/GYN Fellowships

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology fellowship training programs attract talented providers who seek to succeed in all areas of our mission: clinical care, research and education. Minimum Requirements

The minimum requirements for acceptance into any Obstetrics & Gynecology fellowship training program at BIDMC are below.

  • Graduation from accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • All applications must be submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
  • All of BIDMC‘s OB/GYN Fellowship programs participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

Required Documents (submitted via ERAS):

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology requires that the documents below are submitted with each application via ERAS to be considered for an OB/GYN fellowship training program.

  • Completed application
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • Official medical school transcript
  • United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) scores
  • Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) Examination Scores
  • Three letters of recommendation

OB/GYN Fellowship Deadlines

The application process and deadlines depend on the fellowship program fellows are interested in. Learn more about each OB/GYN program application deadline below.

Our fellowship program follows the key dates established by AUGS.

Interview Date(s): Thursday, May 15, 2025 & Friday, May 16, 2025 (Virtual)

The Gynecologic Oncology fellowship program application deadline and important dates:

Monday April 1, 2024: Fellowship Application Deadline
Monday April 26, 2024: Invitation to interview sent out to applicants
Interview Date(s): June 24, 2024 & July 24, 2024 (Virtual)

Please see specific guidelines for the three letters of recommendation for your Gynecologic Oncology application:

*Recent supervisor LOR(s) also acceptable where Residency Program Director and/or Gynecologic Oncologist letters are not relevant or available.

Monday, April 28, 2025: Deadline for applications to be included in the first notification. Send USMLE and CREOG scores to dvaleri1@bidmc.harvard.edu

Monday, May 19, 2025: Single notification date for interviews.

Tuesday, May 27, 2025: Initial deadline to accept or decline interviews.

Interview Days will be held on Wednesday, July 30 and Wednesday, August 6. Applicants will be given the option to select a date on a first come first serve basis.

Applicants interested in this combined training pathway must submit their application through ERAS by April 28, 2024 and The Genetics & Genomics Fellowship program by April 15, 2024 please email Dayana Valerio to be considered.

Thursday, May 1, 2025(12PM CST): Deadline for fellowship programs to receive fellowship applications. Send USMLE and CREOG scores to dvaleri1@bidmc.harvard.edu

Wednesday, June 4, 2025: Initial notification to invite candidates for interviews.

Wednesday, June 11, 2025 (12PM CST): Initial deadline for applicants to accept or decline interview date. Additional interview invitations can be sent at this time.

Friday, June 20, 2025: Deadline for alerting invited candidates as to which interview date they are given

Interview Day: Tuesday, July 29.
