Spine

In the Spine surgery division, we focus on improving patient outcomes in the spine trauma population by examining how perioperative clinical decisions, such as type and timing of chemical anticoagulants, contribute to outcomes. We also investigate how nutritional status, both pre-and-post operatively influence both short-and-long term complications in the surgical patient. Lastly, we are passionate about patient education, and have recently begun to look at how spine-related literature is presented and how that helps patients make informed decisions about their care.
