Current Partnerships

Below are a list of current partnerships supported through OSEE streamlined recruiting initiative, including recruiting timelines and sign-ups for Departments/Labs. OSEE oversees the administrative components and requirements of these programs before, during, and after the student experience.

Departments/Research Labs: As a reminder, if you want to participate in OSEE's streamlined recruiting initiative please complete the Plans for Hiring Student Research Roles (Spring-Fall 2025) form. You will have the opportunity to select Programs from the list below that interest you. You will also be able to select if you are interested in having positions promoted to URiM students through the Biomedical Sciences Career Program (see below) & internal pathways programs managed by OSEE (see below),

 

HMS Project Success Program

Program Dates: 6/2/25-7/25/25

Full-Time

Project Success: Opening the Door to Biomedical Careers is a program for BOSTON and CAMBRIDGE high school students only, particularly underrepresented in medicine and/or disadvantaged students, to participate in paid, mentored, summer research internships at Harvard Medical School and its affiliated institutions. The program is augmented by seminars and workshops given by faculty and administrators, site visits, and career guidance. If you select this option, OSEE will connect you directly with the program contacts and support operations between all parties.

DF/HCC CURE- Summer Program

Program Dates: 6/25-8/25

Full-Time

The Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) program introduces Massachusetts high school and college students from underrepresented populations to the world of cancer research by placing them in real research settings at local cancer research institutions. Our goal is to encourage students to pursue future careers in the biosciences—particularly cancer research—giving practical meaning to academic course work and to expand and extend their interest in basic, clinical and/or population science research. At the same time, students make a valuable contribution to the DF/HCC research mission. By participating in a program at DF/HCC—an NCI comprehensive cancer center with more than 1100 researchers across seven Harvard institutions—students will learn from experts who are devoted to preventing, treating and curing cancer.

Winsor School

Program Dates: 6/30/25-8/15/25

Part-time

Winsor School, an all girls school in Boston, hosts an Internship Program each Summer for Winsor high school students who are interested in learning more about careers in medicine or research in a STEM-related field. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and work with scientists in the Longwood Medical community and the Boston area.

Dartmouth College- Fall 2025

Part-time or Fall-Time

Dartmouth College undergraduate students are available to carry out internships at any point during the academic year (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer). 

BIDMC Shapiro Scholars- HMS Summer Research

HMS Medical Students

Program Dates: 6/2/25-7/25/25

The BIDMC Office of Student Engagement and Experience, in collaboration with the Shapiro Institute for Education and Research, is excited to present BIDMC Shapiro Scholars, a program designed to connect HMS students between their first and second years, to carry out sponsored research at BIDMC.

Through this Program, BIDMC Departments and Research Labs have the opportunity to host and mentor HMS students, or scholars, to promote their growth and development as researchers and with the hope of paving the way for longer term relationships between participating Departments and students. Depending on the interests of the students, supplementary clinical learning experiences in simulation and the medical ICU may also be offered.

Pathway to Research- BIDMC Volunteer & BILH Workforce Development Collaboration

Undergraduate Students

Program Dates: 6/9/25-8/1/25

Full-time or Part-time

A collaboration between OSEE, BIDMC Volunteer Office, BIDMC DEI, and BILH Workforce Development, this program, administered by OSEE, connects students from all backgrounds that have taken part in volunteer and workforce development student programs, currently in Biomedical College programs, to open research projects

 

Research Connections- Collaboration with Biomedical Sciences Career Program (BSCP)

All Student Levels

Program Dates: 6/16/25-8/8/25

OSEE is excited to partner with the Biomedical Sciences Career Program (BSCP), a community dedicated to increasing the representation of underrepresented minority and disadvantaged individuals in all facets of science and medicine while helping health care institutions, biopharma/biotechnology firms, educational institutions, professional organizations and private industry members meet their need for a diverse workforce, to present BIDMC research opportunities to URiM students.  Students/fellows attend from over 391 institutions spanning 39 states plus Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Belgium and Australia. They join and return at different levels throughout their academic career.
