JOBST Lymphatic Research Grant Application

In this year-long position, fellows will be expected to lead the research team at the Boston Lymphatic Center.  The research group at the Center focuses on further delineating lymphatic anatomy, the treatment and prevention of lymphedema, and cutting-edge imaging of the lymphatic system. Fellows will become experts in the management and work-up of lymphedema, and the surgical and non-surgical treatments available at The Boston Lymphatic Center.  

The fellow will create and pursue research questions, prepare and publish manuscripts, submit and present research abstracts at medical conferences, oversee database operations, maintain regulatory operations, oversee animal experiments, communicate with collaborators, and supervise other associated research personnel. Fellows will also have the opportunity to shadow the clinical team at the Boston Lymphatic Center.  

Successful fellows will be enrolled in a United States M.D. program or residency, have an interest in lymphedema, have at least one prior research experience (ideally clinical research experience), be highly organized and motivated, and have excellent English writing and communication skills.

  1. CV – including USMLE Step 1 score (and USMLE Step 2 and 3 if applicable), a list of all prior research positions with a list of all publications and presentations from those positions 

  1. Writing Sample – this should be research writing (an abstract and/or excerpt from a paper) that is written by you alone 

  1. Sample presentation – from a medical conference, if possible 

  1. Three references – include relation to the applicant, position, phone number and email address for each.
