Christopher Smith, MD

Dr. Christopher Smith is the Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Medicine. A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, he completed his internal medicine residency training at BIDMC, followed by his Chief Residency. Dr. Smith completed the Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education at Harvard Medical School and served for many years as the Director of the Fellowship. Dr. Smith is the Director of the Clinician Educator Track, has a busy primary care practice, teaches in many different venues, and publishes on a variety of clinical and educational topics including the teaching and assessment of procedural skills, assessment of clinical competence, and the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.
