Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria 

Fellows must have satisfactorily completed internal medicine residency and passed the ABIM Board exam. They must have completed satisfactorily 3 years of cardiology fellowship and be board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular diseases. In addition to evaluation of their performance in their Cardiology and Internal Medicine training programs, fellows are evaluated based on a combination of their letters of recommendation, USMLE exam scores and prior research activity and publications. In addition, we make a concerted effort to cultivate and maintain a diverse and representative population of trainees.

Ongoing Eligibility Requirements

Fellows must fulfill all obligations to maintain enrollment in the program. They take overnight and weekend call, perform procedures and must demonstrate appropriate progressive improvements in knowledge base, procedural and patient management skills. In addition, they must demonstrate appropriate progress in areas of professionalism, transitions in patient care, self-assessment in quality care, adverse event reporting.
