This position is for a ‘Research Fellow,’ who will conduct research in the area of corneal wound healing. The fellow will investigate molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in cell-cell communication between the different corneal layers, more specifically, they will investigate the role of extracellular vesicles in corneal wound healing, and determine if extracellular vesicles can be “loaded” with certain “cargo” (i.e. growth factors, cytokines, or drugs) that would be useful as therapeutics to promote healing with minimal generation of scar forming myofibroblasts.
