Special Events and Support

Primary Care Social Events

These formal and informal gatherings are designed to enhance collegiality among faculty and housestaff. Events include a yearly Primary Care Dinner, Primary Care Career Night, and outings scheduled by the program and Primary Care Chief Medical Resident.

Primary Care Conferences

We hold a monthly primary care conference in which primary care residents and faculty come together to discuss clinical cases and career advising.

Society of General Internal Medicine Meetings

Primary Care Track residents are strongly encouraged to attend regional and national general medicine meetings and present a clinical vignette or research abstract. Funding from the Department of Medicine is available to defray the cost of one conference during residency training.

Mentorship and Career Counseling

Primary Care Track residents are matched early in their training with a primary care faculty mentor based upon their clinical and academic interests. This mentor will meet with them regularly throughout the course of their residency training and provide professional guidance and support, as well as career counseling.
