Things To Know Before You Attend

  • Your BIDMC (or BILH organization) ID will be your conference badge.  Be sure to present your badge at the check-in desk to confirm your registration. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate “walk-in” registrations. Please contact us at CAO@bidmc.harvard.edu with any concerns.
  • Poster Presenters should plan to check-in to receive their poster number and location at the Poster Check-In table starting at 7:30 am. Posters MUST BE In place no later than 8:00 am.

There will be two 45-minute poster sessions:
 - Odd numbered posters will be presented from 8:00 am – 8:45am
 - Even numbered posters will be presented from 8:45 am - 9:30 am
 - The posters will remain available for viewing until 3:00pm 
 - CORES sessions will be held at the respective research resource table 

  • Continental breakfast and coffee will be available beginning at 7:30 am outside the Amphitheatre on the first floor and outside the Rotunda on the third floor. The first session will start promptly at 9:40 am in the Amphitheatre.

Lisa S. Rosenbaum, MD 

Keynote Presenter

The 2024 BIDMC Research Retreat welcomes Lisa S. Rosenbaum, MD as a keynote presenter. Lisa Rosenbaum is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, cardiologist at BIDMC, and Writer in Residence at the Smith Center. She is also a national correspondent for the New England Journal of Medicine where she hosts the podcast Not Otherwise Specified.

Frank J. Slack, PhD

Keynote Presenter

Frank J. Slack, Ph.D. will be a keynote presenter for the 2024 BIDMC Research Retreat. Slack is Director of the Harvard Medical School Initiative for RNA Medicine hosted at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center (BIDMC). He is also the Shields Warren Mallinckrodt Professor of Medical Research at Harvard Medical School. He received his B.Sc. from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, before completing his Ph.D. in molecular biology at Tufts University School of Medicine. He started his work on microRNAs as a postdoctoral fellow in Gary Ruvkun's laboratory at HMS.
