Research Connections is a program managed by the BIDMC Office of Student Engagement and Experience, in collaboration with the Biomedical Sciences Career Program (BSCP), a community dedicated to increasing the representation of underrepresented minority and disadvantaged individuals in all facets of science and medicine while helping health care institutions, biopharma/biotechnology firms, educational institutions, professional organizations and private industry members meet their need for a diverse workforce. Students/fellows attend from over 391 institutions spanning 39 states plus Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Belgium and Australia. They join and return at different levels throughout their academic career.
This program is part of BIDMC Office of Student Engagement and Experience (OSEE) Streamlined Research Partnerships Initiative.

Official Program Dates: June 16th, 2025- August 8th, 2025
- OSEE collects project opportunities from Principal Investigators via Project Intake Form- Streamlined Recruitment and Onboarding Year One Pilot
- BSCP posts student application with project opportunities on the BSCP Internships & Jobs webpage, and shares directly with students
- Students apply by selecting projects of interest from the Form that correspond to their academic level
- OSEE sends student’s CV and statement of interest to each PI
- If student is selected, PI/departmental contact communicates offer to OSEE
- OSEE sends offer letter to student using offer letter template
- Once student returns signed offer letter, student is onboarded via OSEE Streamlined Research Partnerships Initiative onboarding process flow
