Curriculum and Didactics
One of the big advantages of our program is that we can tailor it for the trainee's individual success, while still maintaining compliance with ACGME requirements. Trainees will be taught by expert faculty utilizing all the available methods, from didactics to simulation to hands-on training. The fellows have many opportunities to be involved with resident education and training as well. Fellows will be expected to give resident lectures and conduct journal club to further their role as educators.
Research and Other Opportunities
Every fellow is expected to complete at least one Quality and Safety or one Research project during the year, and the results are presented at a scientific conference, usually at the ASRA Spring Meeting every April. The department of anesthesia, critical care and pain medicine has several research centers of excellence, with multiple ongoing research projects and support for the fellows' academic activity.
