What orientation will I receive at the beginning of the residency?
Each resident will attend a general hospital orientation, a general orientation and training program within the central pharmacy, and a more specialized oncology pharmacy orientation. This training will prepare the resident for the staffing component of the residency as well as provide insight into the operational workflow and policies and procedures of the pharmacy and medical center.
What are the staffing requirements?
Residents will staff inpatient hem/onc every fourth weekend and a total of 20 shifts in the infusion center distributed as single days or full weeks throughout the year.
How will the program address my individual residency goals?
Required "core" rotations provide the resident a broad experience to develop skills necessary to care for a wide variety of hem/onc disease states. A range of elective rotations allows the residents to customize their program to match their interests. Flexibility within the program allows residents to select research or project opportunities to maximize their exposure to their areas of interest. Active participation by the residents in designing their program is encouraged.
