The OSEE is here to support recruitment, onboarding, and general support initiatives for BIDMC PIs/Labs interested in hiring and overseeing research students.
The office is positioned to oversee many administrative processes and tasks involved with finding and hiring research students. We are currently piloting centralized initiatives to make it as simple as possible to connect our research colleagues with excellent student candidates, and to create impactful connections for all parties.
These include the following:
- BIDMC Shapiro Scholars- HMS Summer Research
- Structured program connecting HMS students between their first and second years of study to PI mentors for full-time summer research
- OSEE Streamlined Research Partnerships Initiative
- Centralized structure for connecting PIs/labs with open project opportunities to research student candidates from partnerships managed by OSEE (pilot for Summer 2025 with goal of larger-scale expansion)
- Management of Student Requests for Research
- Central management of student requests and connections to PIs/labs of interest
- Pathways to Research Program
- Facilitated program connecting students and alumni from the BIDMC Volunteer and Workforce Development Programs, pursuing careers in healthcare with an interest in research, to PIs/labs
- Please reach out to Ethan Selinger, Program Director for the OSEE (eselinge@bidmc.harvard.edu) with any questions on these programs.
