Eileen Reynolds, MD

Chair, Linde Family Institute for Primary Care Leadership

Eileen Reynolds, MD MACP is the Chief of the Division of General Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Koplow-Tullis Professor in General Medicine and Primary Care at Harvard Medical School (HMS).    She moved to this role after serving as the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director and then as Vice Chair for Education at BIDMC.   

Dr. Reynolds is the founder and Chair of the Linde Institute for Primary Care Leadership, which sponsors multiple leadership training programs including a year-long fellowship, and a large Primary Care Innovations grants program across the BILH health system.    

Dr. Reynolds graduated from Harvard College magna cum laude and received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She has won teaching awards at UCSF, HUP, and HMS, and the ACGME's Parker Palmer Courage to Teach Award. She has served on the ACGME’s Residency Review Committee in Internal Medicine, including as Vice Chair, and was elected President of the Society of General Medicine.  She has served as an editor for the Clinical Crossroads section of JAMA and the Beyond the Guidelines section of the Annals of Internal Medicine. 

Dr. Reynolds and her husband currently serve as the Faculty Deans of Leverett House, one of Harvard College’s 12 residential houses.  

 

 

Heidi Bellamente, Executive Director & Executive Coach

Heidi Bellamente is a certified leadership coach with 19 years of experience designing, implementing, and evaluating leadership and coaching programs. As Executive Director of the Linde Institute for Primary Care Leadership Development at Beth Israel Lahey Health, she creates experiences to empower physician leaders to develop their skills and transform as leaders. Previously, as Director of Organizational Development at Exeter Hospital, she led programs and initiatives on change management, employee engagement, leadership and management development, and coaching.

Before her healthcare roles, Heidi built her expertise through consulting and in her work in federal government, focusing on management consulting, strategic human resources management, leadership development, training, and change management. Holding a Leadership Coaching Certificate from Georgetown University and a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology from the Flourishing Center, she coaches with authenticity, humor, and a focus on building trust, guiding leaders to embrace their unique strengths.

Heidi earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Kansas. Living in New Hampshire, she enjoys walks with friends, listening to podcasts, and baking with her two daughters.

Ellen Kwan, MD, Faculty Director

Dr. Ellen Kwan is a healthcare leader, educator, and board-certified family physician with over two decades of clinical experience and commitment to care team experience and professional and personal development. Currently serving as Faculty Director of the Linde Family Institute for Primary Care, Dr.Kwan is invested in instilling a growth mindset for clinical faculty.  As a trained facilitator and is a board-certified coach, she created and delivered professional development sessions focused on guiding clinical and administrative leaders to strengthen their personal leadership practices and empower teams. 

As the Director of Care Team Experience at Beth Israel Lahey Health Primary Care, Dr. Kwan leads with purpose, compassion, and innovation.  From optimizing EHR and clinical workflows to launching peer support, employee engagement and internship programs, she has championed initiatives to enhance team well-being and empower multidisciplinary teams. 

A graduate of Cornell University and Stony Brook Medical School, Dr. Kwan trained in Family Medicine at the University of Connecticut.  She is a graduate of the then-BIDMC Physician Leadership Development Program, or PLP. Dr. Kwan is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and continues to teach leadership, resiliency and patient-centered clinical skills to the next generation of physicians. 

Dan Dangler

Director, Leadership Development, Beth Israel Lahey Health; Executive Coach, Linde Family Fellowship Program

As an organizational development consultant, Dan brings over 25 years of experience in leadership development, building effective teams and collaborations and facilitating organizational change. He's consulted, taught and coached executive, physician and nursing leaders as well as ancillary, middle and front-line leaders across the continuum of care. Dan brings a seasoned perspective on the changing healthcare landscape and the critical leadership competencies needed to move a healthcare system to the next generation of value-based care.

Prior to joining BIDMC, Dan was a senior director and faculty member with the Advisory Board Company for over six years. He's presented cutting-edge healthcare research and taught leadership development to over 165 leading hospitals and healthcare systems across the United States and Australia. He's provided guidance to executive teams on leadership and high performing culture, team performance and organizational change.

Kate Kimball

Senior Project Manager

Kate started at BIDMC in 2020 after a long career in private school leadership as Director of Enrollment Management and Assistant Head of School, most recently at Kingsley Montessori School in Back Bay. With a strong interest in administration and faculty retention and growth, she has adeptly transferred her skills from Kingsley to BIDMC, and now to Linde.

Kate earned her BA from Boston University and her Montessori Administration credential from the Center for Montessori Education.
