Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowships

Excellence in Gastroenterology & Hepatology

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, part of the Digestive Disease Center, is a center for excellence in medicine, where high-quality patient care and innovation are at the forefront of all we do. Our division is one the largest and most robust GI practices in the U.S. and our fellows gain exemplary experiences in patient care, teaching, and research in their GI specialty of choice. BIDMC is a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital and together we partner to offer world-class education to our fellows.

We are at the forefront of digestive disease care in New England and our multidisciplinary team approach benefits our patients, physicians, and fellows as we collaborate, with our attention to patient safety, quality, and innovation. Our fellows work alongside our many GI experts, honing their skills in an acclaimed medical center committed to educational excellence in gastroenterology care and research.

We serve a diverse community of local, national, and international patients. The Division's high clinical volume means our physicians see 31,000+ patients annually and perform 28,000+ procedures, placing our volume in the top five programs nationally. In addition to our general Gastroenterology program fellowship, the division is comprised of six centers: Celiac Center, Advanced Endoscopy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel & Motility, and Liver, each of which houses their own specialized fellowships.
