How do I apply?
The general cardiology program uses the standard ERAS common application form, but some of our specialty programs do not use ERAS.
When do you typically conduct interviews?
We typically conduct interviews on Fridays in September and October.
Does the program admit trainees on a visa?
Yes, the program admits trainees with either a J-1 or H1-B visa.
ACGME Accredited Fellowships
Deadline: August 1
Any materials or applications received after August 1 will not be considered.

The Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at BIDMC participates in the ERAS application service. Please submit your materials by December 31 through MyERAS. Our program ACGME ID is 1542421026.
Non-ACGME Accredited Fellowships
Deadline
Applications are considered year-round.
Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for application are:
- Completion of a 3-year cardiovascular fellowship or general radiology residency
- Personal statement
- Curriculum Vitae
- Three letters of recommendation. One letter must be from the program director of your internal medicine training and one from the program director of your general cardiology fellowship.
It is not mandatory but helpful for you to submit a photograph and your USMLE scores. Please note that this is not an ERAS application.
Prerequisite Training/Selection Criteria
CMR applicants: All applicants are expected to be ABIM certified in internal medicine and to have completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in cardiovascular diseases; or to be board certified in radiology or nuclear medicine.
Echocardiographic applicants: All applicants are expected to be board certified in internal medicine and to have completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in cardiovascular diseases.

- Maximum of 2/year in CMR
- Maximum of 2/year in echocardiography

- Rationale for pursuing clinical training in cardio-oncology
- Prior work and qualifications

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an MD or DO degree

Applicants must anticipate completion of residency training in family medicine, internal medicine, or med-peds by July 1, 2026.

Applicants must be US citizens or lawful permanent US residents with a resident alien permit or green card. The fellowship cannot sponsor J-1 or other visas.

About Our Program
The Vascular Medicine Fellowship at BIDMC offers a well-rounded and multidisciplinary approach to both common and uncommon vascular disorders, striving to train the future academic leaders in Vascular Medicine. Our fellowship promotes clinical excellence; trainees will develop the necessary foundational knowledge, grow to integrate the wide range of clinical diagnostic data, and formulate optimal treatment plans for complex vascular patients. The fellows work in a collegial environment rotating with other services that also treat vascular disease. Additionally, our clinical training program is complimented by robust basic and clinical research opportunities.
